“ We've been wanting to go here for a long time. A friend of ours recommended it as a great place to get a sandwich. I had a sausage sandwich, tried the clam chowder and a piece of pizza as well. The pizza was fantastic! The sausage sandwich and the clam chowder were both good. My wife had a Panini and a Caesar salad, which she enjoyed. The service was pretty slow and the kitchen seemed a little bit disorganized and chaotic. We specifically came after 1:45 to miss the lunch rush. Will come back another time to try some other things. ”
“ Marco Polo's has not lost their touch. It's been many years since we last ate here due to leaving the area. The food is delicious and the service is friendly. I highly recommend. ”
“ I had the Chicken Marco Pollo! Excellent. Chicken, spinach and cheese stuff in large breaded ball. It came with delicious fried potatoes. Family had chicken Parmigiano that came with pasta. We also brought home the coconut cake & tiramisu that were both so fresh and delicious! The staff was impressive at the counter! ”
“ One of my favorite dishes is Eggplant Parmigiana. And these folks know how to do one superbly !! Great staff and a convenient place for take out. !P.S. The cheese cake was delicious also ! ”
“ I know this may be a controversial opinion but pasta has just never been my best buddy in the food world, like it's an acquaintance who always ends up at the same parties but someone, or rather something, I always end up trying to avoid. And to make things worse, there's no real reason, I'm not gluten intolerant, I'm not where near low carb, and I'm definitely not adverse to noodles (and yes pasta and noodles are inherently different fight me on this one). Now with all of this being said, once in awhile I'll find myself craving a big bowl of Italian pasta for a reasonable price and Marco Polo's always comes to mind. This off shoot of the fancier Jasper's, located next door but essentially in the same restaurant, is the perfect spot to grab a big heaping portion of penne (or fettuccine, rigatoni, spaghetti... you're getting the point) at a great price point. They also offer incredible daily specials which even include a scoop of gelato to top it off, all for around $12?! Bellissimo! The last night I went the special happened to be Italian meatloaf, which though sounding delicious, decadent and hearty was not what I came searching for. Bring me the big bowl of spaghetti! Or in this case buttery linguine noodles tossed in a creamy briney clam sauce, usually I prefer white sauce over red sauce however, I am not the biggest fan of alfredo so, this lighter cream sauce was perfect since it had more butter and olive oil than heavy cream. The pasta was slippery little suckers and gave me a hard time since I was trying to shove them down my throat as fast as I could, it was hitting the spot for sure, but I didn't mind the challenge. And the bread was a great vessel in order to sop up all that extra buttery goodness at the bottom of the bowl. I left completely satisfied and with a whole to go box of pasta to enjoy again, which I definitely did (maybe or maybe not in the middle of the night). Marco Polo's is a good fast casual option, especially for large family to go orders it seems, with above average quality Italian food for an incredibly affordable price. ”
“ The "Real Deal" Italian Deli located near the intersection of I-435 and State Line Road, on 103rd Street, you can find an Italian Deli that rivals anything you might find in Kansas City's North End! Yes, it is in the Watts Mill strip mall, but it does overlook the babbling Indian Creek and is well shielded from the nearby traffic. Coming through the door you know immediately that you are in a Deli. The curved display cases and aroma from the kitchen tell the story - prepare yourself for a spicy and flavorful meal! Along with an amazing assortment of traditional Italian dishes, they feature some of the best Italian sandwiches and paninis around. For example, my favorite is the Italian Hero: Roast Beef, Ham, Salami, Italian Dressing, Provolone, lettuce, tomatoes and onions on crispy Italian bread. Also available with Turkey or Capicola in place of Roast Beef and Salami for an affordable $8.50. For the serious traditionalist there are pastas, meatballs, egg plant, and all the cheeses you could want. Recommendation: So when you have had your fill of Americanized Suburban faux Italian sandwich shops, Marco Polo's Italian Market is there for you. COVID-19 Considerations: Limited inside seating, social distancing enforced, mask required for customers when not seated, staff wears masks and gloves, outdoor seating available, curbside delivery and carryout are available. ”
